VDL Konings is an efficient and flexible supplier for OEMs of complex parts and assembled products (components, modules, systems), which takes care of the product realization as a Tier 1 supplier. VDL Konings' customers are OEMs (end manufacturers) who consider outsourcing production as part of their strategy.

As a Tier 1 supplier, we focus on delivering high performance in terms of productivity, quality, logistics and delivery time. We work on customer specifications and can think about the design together with you. We are a strategic partner that takes care of the production.

Creating meaningful applications transforming healthcare globally. Our MedTech activities are based on two work streams: 

Development 
Besides system manufacturing, VDL Konings cooperates together with MedTech customers on Design and Development Projects (13485 certified). Based on a tailor-made stage gate development process, we are able to combine the manufacturing intelligence with end-customer requirements to create a cost effective Medical module which suits customer demands. Core competences within VDL Konings are; Concept & Detail Designing, FEM analysis and TPD Maintenance.


Manufacturing
By combining our internal welding, machining, CMM, painting, assembly and testing processes, together with the competences of our VDL sister organizations and other suppliers, we provide a total solution for our MedTech customer portfolio using system integration. VDL Konings has its own dedicated (locked) areas where Prototypes can be manufactured, assembled and tested.

Supplying modules to protect our loved ones.

For several years, VDL Konings has been producing components for vehicles of leading defense clients from various countries within Europe. These modules can be made from "ordinary" steel, but it is also possible to manufacture them from special steels such as armor steel. After the machining step, the steels need to be assembled in our assembly department. The assembly can be both mechanical and electronic, including testing, which falls within the scope.

Apart from producing mechanical or mechatronic modules, VDL Konings possesses the expertise and capacity to support customers in the design phase. Through our design processes, we offer assistance in both Built2Print+ and Built2Concept, optimizing manufacturability in terms of efficiency, costs, and sustainability."

To meet this challenge, there is a constant need for new technologies, materials, and processes that push the boundaries of what is possible.

We are active in both the front-end and back-end of the semiconductor industry, where production equipment must support increasingly higher levels of purity. Therefore, we conduct research on the origin, flow, and precipitation of particles that arise from material wear. We also explore ways to prevent particles from reaching crucial areas through the use of plasma. In doing so, we fill knowledge gaps and enhance the technology.
