The machines, applications, adaptations and optimisations built by VDL Konings are used in various production processes, including flexible web-guided materials like film, foam, composites, rubber, rock wool and cars.

PROJECT

AUTOMATIZED QUALITY INSPECTION SYSTEM

Our customer, a global industry player, aims to enhance customer satisfaction by addressing the quality of their diverse product range. Customer satisfaction strongly depends on the quality of their products. Presently, manual and visual inspections yield inconsistent results. VDL Konings has been entrusted with the development and construction of a comprehensive automated quality inspection system tailored for various configurations of products.

This assignment includes the mechanical, electrical, hardware, software and vision engineering. This fully automized quality inspection system will be developed, built and tested at VDL Konings. After successful assembly and installation of the quality system at VDL Konings, a Factory Acceptence Test (FAT) will be conducted. The quality system will be disassembled and packed for transport after testing has been succesfully executed. At our customer, the equipment will be installed and integrated on-site and will go through various tests, that are executed by VDL Konings. After these tests, the Site Acceptence Test (SAT) will be conducted and the new inspection system can be taken in operation.

 

 

PROJECT

FULLY AUTOMATIZED PRODUCTION LINE

For a major Dutch player in fiber-reinforced plastic composite products, we have delivered a high volume production line that is capable of handling 6 ton moulds. The production line consists of over 200m conveyor systems, shuttles, rotating tools, a gantry and a temperature controlled warehouse to store 96 moulds. All these systems are PLC controlled by in-house developed software and managed by a SCADA system.

Next to installation and commissioning, VDL Konings also did the design, production and assembly of the CE certified line.

By working closely together with other VDL companies and our preferred suppliers, we were able to meet customer expectations and delivered the project within time and budget.
